COASTAL BIRDS OF THE LLYN PENINSULA

Our “Shearwater” cruise itineraries take us from the estuary of Pwllheli to the rocky offshore islands of the St. Tudwals’, Gwylans and Bardsey, passing along the way, extensive sandy beaches, numerous sea-caves and high sheer cliffs. We occasionally transit across stretches of sea, taking us a few miles from shore. It is therefore not surprising, that such a journey through this range of contrasting habitats, enables us to see a great variety of bird species.

We have included here images of some of the birds encountered on our recent cruises. Whilst the birds featured represent just a few from the extensive list of those found along the coast of the Llyn, we have included mainly the more interesting, numerous and prevalent birds that we see.

All these images have been taken from ‘“Shearwater” Coastal Cruises’ and their reproduction is not permitted without our express permission.
